Is that all.. there are some on here who'd have you believe that they could do that in 12 minutes whilst stopping for cake and tea.:biggrin:

Well done, you. Feels good to beat your PB... been a while since I beat mine.

Is it with the lifts working at Greenwich or did you run the bike up the steps on your shoulders?

Well done though and nice commute.

Quick check reveals the wind was blowing from the South yesterday, remind me, what direction were you cycling?

Well done though and nice commute.

Stairs are quicker, the bike weights @ 7kg so not exactly heavy. It's the pregnant camel walk with the Look cleats that slow you down, and make you look like a tit!

Here is my today's commute. Thought I should take the long route today, 21 miles @ 15.4mph Todays Commute

Pretty tidy time. A bit round the houses, but a nice route. I was brought up in in Orpington and used to cycle out to the countryside on the Bypass. Very fast going north towards the Crays, especially before all the traffic lights.

Doesn't stand.

Wind was greater than 2 mph IN YOUR FAVOUR, so disqualification from any record books can be the only judgement.

Unless you have a complicated spreadsheet that calculates compensations for meteorlogical conditions?

And there is the 'tunnel' effect of wind 'funneling' down city streets, which will only ASSIST you further.

Bad luck, old chap.

Thanks for researching the meteorological conditions for me, could you factor in the traffic lights and Carsoles that pull out in front of you?

My PB ( in my years of life risking madness ) for a 8.25 mile commute was 24 mins. 20.5 mph average.

Then when I got home, I realised there was a 15 mph wind up my jacksee, so it didn't count.

The resultant headwind I experienced was 10 mph. So I was pedalling with the required effort to cycle 10 mph, but doing 25 mph roadspeed.

Necessary stops and slow sections brought the average down to 20.5 mph.

Sure I overtook you on the A21 this morning... I was flying...

Ouch...cheap shot:biggrin:

What time were you "flying"...you may have passed me as I was still in recovery mode for a while (sorting out my weekend hypocondria...see Health and fitness section).

Or were you the really slow chap being overtaken by me on my MTB!
