Apparently, according to reports, the viewing figures for the first GP of 2012 and Sky's first live exclusive race were 75% down on last years BBC viewing figures.
Personally, if it had been shown live on BBC I would have watched it but I do not have Sky and I am not going subscribe to Sky just for F1.

I am not suprised, I have sky but I am not paying to watch F1, if it is on normal telly I will watch it otherwise I wont.

I guess time will tell, if people vote with their wallets and tell them to get stuffed it will go back to being more accessible.

I have been an avid fan for many, many years but simply refuse to pay Sky. I rarely watch any other TV, already pay a licence and won't be paying anything else.:ninja:

We already had Sky and according to the OH the online tools that they provided to go with the race were rather good. Don't think we'd get Sky just for F1 though - we've got 6 months of a rather cheap deal left and then it will probably go.

I watched it and found the coverage to be very good.
No adverts during qualifying or the race. The presenters are doing a very good job. (Damon Hill is surprisingly good).

Was really good coverage, I'm genuinely astounded by the amount of comments I've read with people refusing to get sky out of principal or cost reasons. As a football, tennis, cricket and F1 fan it's super value for money IMO. Me and my fiancée split the cost which with our package works out at about £1 each per day, per month. I thought brundle and croft made a great team (even if Croft could do with calming down a bit sometimes!) and I'm sure as the season progresses they'll all relax into it. Not sure it'll ever be as casual as the BBC coverage was but I wouldn't expect it to be with it being Sky and all.

Wow, £720 a year to watch Sky + the better quality TV to watch it on + the licence? [+ extra to watch F1 channel?]

I never used to watch them live anyway and just watch the BBC Sport F1 highlights on my laptop.

I previously had Sky, after loosing interest in football on TV I eventually realised that most of the TV I watched was free to air, so I was basically paying for free TV. I do miss the PDC World's over christmas/new year period though:sad: .

I binned Sky a few years ago. I only really had it for the football and as anyone who has kids will tell you I was finding very few opportunities to sit down and watch a whole match. The rest of the stuff we watched was mostly on the free to air channels so we went for Freesat with a Humax HD recordable box.

watch all the football and F1 races you like on veetle.com
They had the sky F1 stream for the race. I loaded it up on my iphone and then streamed it to my apple TV - Perfect and free

We have Sky HD and although we don't subscribe to the sports channels, the F1 channel is provided as part of the HD stuff, so didn't cost anything over what we're already paying.

The coverage was excellent and I found Damon Hill to be far superior to that kid's TV presenter that the Beeb were using last season. I just couldn't get away with him and unusually for me, he didn't grow on me.

Sorry to say I gave up on F1 a couple of years ago. Just lost interest.
Me too.I watched, followed and tired to visit as many live meets as possible (as far away as Barcelona)

but I lost interest when Schumacher/Maclaren were dominating every race. I found I fell asleep during most races.

I've never managed to regain interest and this move to Sky is gong to ensure I never do.
