I know they had to start again but aren't Wimbledon now better off for it all?

What a depressing experience it must have been sat in a souless ground, not even your own, far too large for you, skint and on the way to freefall through the leagues.
how so? The Southern League club that made it all the way to the top division and won the FA Cup. I think that even in the dog days of Selhurst (I watched them play the 'Derby' game there, and it was a bit grim) Wimbledon fans would be still be pinching themselves and wondering how it all happened.

I saw them play in 1965. They'd bought a 40 year old former Irish international for £750. When I say 40 I'm referring to his waistline as well as his age. He scored with a volley that Zidane would have been proud of (the opposition goalkeeper having bounced off his belly). It was, possibly the most beautiful football moment I can remember.

No offence but I went there in 1999 and it was dreadful at Selhurst Park. Like a morgue, and it was a belting 4-3 or 3-2 game if I remember correctly.

Slim mentioned developing and selling players to stay afloat, fair enough, but that's not a long term business plan! I don't know the in's and out's of the loss of Plough Lane but I don't think you were the same club once you left and were tenants at SP. I was desperate to see you relegated as it meant my club, Bradford, stayed up. However, I wish we had lost, staying in the PL for one more year led to decade of ever worsening league positions and just when I think we can't get any lower, we do.

It's odd, but when time are really bad or clubs are on the verge of administration, many fans appear to want to "do a Wimbledon" and start again. I am still not sure that what happened was not in your best long term interests and it will be interesting to see your fans views if you (and I hope you do) overtake franchise FC.
.

yes, although it was a bit painful to watch at times.

On reflection I'm not in the least concerned by Franchise United getting dumped out. I've spoken to a couple of AFC fans who were just miserable about MK turning up.

I flew from Oslo to Molde this evening and sitting a few rows in front of me was the current Norwegian manager, Egil Olsen!

He was also the manager of Wimbledon in 1999/2000 - the year they were relegated from the Premier League (and haven't been back since).

I wanted to ask if if he thought his 'imaginitive' style of football (the long-ball forward) was too innovative or early for Wimbledon and English football, but I didn't get the chance!

Used to wear Wellies all the time if I am mistaken. Think due to allergic to grass... but maybe completely wrong lol
