I think it's nicer not knowing. It makes you less inhibited.

I remember my wife and I walking the dog in Richmond Park one Sunday morning. We met Melvyn Bragg, a lady (maybe his wife, dunno) and a dog. Whilst the dogs acknowledged each other in the time honoured fashion, my wife was happily chatting to them (about dogs), oblivious of who he was. It was only afterwards, when I said who it was, that she suddenly felt aware of the conversation.

Aye I reckon it was best to not know who he was when you were speaking, but glad you found out! Otherwise you would not have been able to start this thread (there's a strings joke in there somewhere but I cannot be arsed finding it)

Have to agree with you there a one of a kind i am sure, pray tell what were the circumstances to you meeting him
Mrs FF shares a mutual interest with his wife in one of her hobbies, I was but the chauffer!
