Very cold wind here but i think i saw a biker wearing a face mask not a bad idea as that wind freezes ones face, cycling clothes are fine for everything else but how does one keep that wind off your face . . .

I cycle backwards. In all seriousness though on the coldest days if I'm planning/expecting to go slow I'll wear a buff too but I hate having anything cover my mouth or nose if I'm putting the effort in.

Buff round the neck, pull it over the nose and/or mouth if needed. Keeps my lungs more comfortable, they don't like all the cold air tbh.

A Buff is the best as you can pull it up or down as needed. I often have to adjust mine and you can't do that with a face mask

Skull cap that comes down over ears, and a buff or even two - one round neck and one over lower face. I usually never have it over my mouth and nose.

There are some properly cracking designs for full on face masks out there. I've been scanning Amazon for a bit. There's one neoprene face mask that makes it look like the skin has been removed from your face. That should be good for a laugh

Buff makes a great product and I use them down to about -15C. Below that though, a balaclava is a must.
