What about a nice thin, waxed, pencil 'tache like that bloke out of Kid Creole and the coconuts?

This style is definitely the way forwards, it's what all the cool kids will be wearing next year:

A bit like the pic above, but not, I grew a beard then one day shaved half the 'tache off and the other half the beard off... looked kinda cool for about 10 minutes. Well, it amused me, anyroad.

Tricky one. I was hirsute before I met Mrs P but have been clean-shaven ever since. She never asked me to, it was just an unspoken agreement and I'm happy with that. For many guys a beard appears to be a statement of that bloke's idea of what he ought to look like, not how others see him. But not always.

A curious example. One of my former managers sported a really luxuriant Groucho-style 'tache, indeed he bore a strong resemblance to Groucho if you can visualise Groucho grown to six feet tall. It was certainly an integral part of his physiognomy, and it was hard to visualise his face without it. So one Xmas, when photos were taken, some wag had the idea of photoshopping the moustache out and posted the result. Almost unrecognizable of course! When the 'victim' saw the picture, he blew his top (in a good-natured sort of way). "Don't ever even think of pulling that one on me again, anyone..."

My other half has a chin beard, ie just a beard on his chin - no tache. It really suits him, he's had it as long as I've known him and I like it. In fact, I've never seen his actual chin and I don't think I want to now. He tried to grow a full beard once but had too many bald patches in it

Another friend of mine has a very short cropped goatee and it really suits him - I can't imagine him without it either.

Entirely up to you mate, either way I'm not going to be snogging you so it don't matter to me.

Personally I don't really like body or facial hair but if I was to let my facial hair grow I would ony be able to grow a goatee plus a few stray strands.

the beard is secondary to the full tache that you need. Don't worry about trimming, you've got to get it long enough so that you chew on it when you're eating.

I know a couple of guys, military, with handlebar moustaches, all I can say is WTF???

Of course if Noodley does go the full mutton chops and handlebar route, I'm sure many of us would 'sponsor' him towards a Planet X purchase:biggrin:
