After 700 metres of being blown all over the place by 40mph gusts of winds and trying to avoid all the road debris, not just the many leaves and twigs but branches, I decided, since I was in the most sheltered part of my commute to reverse course and use my joker card.
First time this year I have commuted in by car instead of bike, so very disappointed with myself:tongue: .

On the plus side my better half took pity on my situation and suggested I spend some time this weekend on the bike to make up for it, so this weekend will be my first non-commute ride since my student wannabe roadie days^_^ .

Well it is windy enough that the Severn Bridge is closed to high sided vehicles - must admit I'm glad I'm not working today! (Bunting is still attached to the house but I'm not sure for how much longer).

For me the worst thing about the wind is not just being blown about but also the other things that are being blown about such as the bins and branches.

I've just made it in, but it was a bit skittish in places and I was caught by a cross wind on a down hill sectionh that shock me up a bit, so much so that I lost all momentum for the uphill scetion and had to drop into the small ring!!!.

I appeared to be in a minority this morning as I saw very few other cyclists braving the elements.

I hope it clears up a bit for the returm journey.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Glad i am off work this week, its all of the above and i am still recovering from the trots+ pukes so i cant stand up without going dizzy so i would have to have gone in the car if i could have done anything when i go there.

I thought my Mrs would cry-out of riding in today owing to the weather. Nothing of the sort  Can officially take her off the fair weather cyclist list now.

After leaving her at her work I even managed to take my waterproof off for 5 mins before getting utterly soaked again. Summer is here.

Yesterday I left work and it was belting down, so I put my waterpoof jacket on, stopped ten minutes later to take the fecker off. If you forget the boil in the bag they feel awful when the are soaking wet and seem to take an age to dry when the rain lets up. So just rode this morning in the wet with a long sleve base and SS jersey, much better.

I'm off on annual leave... I would be out enjoying it, but I'm waiting for the postman to turn up with some new pedals!! So I've had to stay in the last 2 days... Sigh...

I was two hours late for work this morning, had a terrible night hardly any sleep felt like crap. Was planning to take the day off sick, decided to MTFU, rode in battling the winds, felt terrible by the time I got in to work. Had some lunch and starting to perk up, hoping I've got a tail wind on the return journey, but we all know that's wishfull thinking!

When it's windy my ride in is always against a headwind, and the same on the way home. :S

Today it was pretty much business as usual with a stiff-ish headwind. But at one point I was very nearly blown right off the bike (and that isn't an exaggeration) by a massive gust. Really took me by surprise.
