Glad i dont have the bike today, friday is my car day as i need to leave early to go to my second job, weather is pretty nasty today, we seemed to have most of the wind last night though just rain and slight wind now

In between here and there
It was pretty windy on the way in, but it seems to be getting worse, if it carries on like this it will be a massive tailwind for me. BUT it is so unpredicable I cannot see me breaking any records. It was SW this morning but the one that nearly caught be out was a massive blast from the east, short and very sharp scared the crap out of me as I had been kind of leaning in to the SW going across an open common

Tail wind on the way to work this morning, and it was dry until I was about a mile from work, I could see it, the closer to Nuneaton I got the darker it got. The ride home dinner time was orrible, strong headwind and heavy rain, if it keeps this up I will be getting webbed feet.
We were on a coach trip to Weymouth on Tuesday, it was raining when we arrived at dinner time and got off the coach, and it was still raining when we got back on the coach at tea time to go home, we got on the coach looking like a pair of drowned rats.

After 700 metres of being blown all over the place by 40mph gusts of winds and trying to avoid all the road debris, not just the many leaves and twigs but branches, I decided, since I was in the most sheltered part of my commute to reverse course and use my joker card.
First time this year I have commuted in by car instead of bike, so very disappointed with myself:tongue: .

On the plus side my better half took pity on my situation and suggested I spend some time this weekend on the bike to make up for it, so this weekend will be my first non-commute ride since my student wannabe roadie days^_^ .

Nothing wrong with that.

Got up at 5am to see the wind bending an 18 foot tree in my garden at a right angle. Apparently 70mph winds here in Southampton this morning. The riders I have seen today have balls of steel.

Lots of junk, branches and rubbish on the roads today here too. After my faceplant-crash last year due to crap on the road I'm more cautious of it.

Got very wet on way in to work. the type of wet where you can't get any wetter, only drier...if that makes sense. Ride home was dry, but two close call incidents of people overtaking and driving at me forcing me to take to the verge riled me a little. I then passed 6 cars to get to my right turn to find a woman in a car turning right too - no indication whatsoever. [facepalm]

Now just realised there's 3 weeks of football to endure. So iTunes is on, the bass is plugged in and I'm rockin.

Ciao

Biked in this morning but the headwind up Felixstowe seafront almost brought me to a standstill. That, and the side winds, made the trip in somewhat testing. Found out while at work that wind gauges on the Port away from the quayside were showing average wind speeds over 25 MPH and gusts between 45-50 MPH.

I've stuck with it this week. I've been feeling a bit rough (man flu) but I find that a nice 45 min ride to work actually makes me feel better. If I go on the motorbike, I don't seem to wake up 'till mid-morning. As for the wind, I'm on the trike this week, so it doesn't blow me around as much as the 2 wheeler.

I've also not bothered with the waterproofs this week. It's warm enough, and hey, hou can only get so wet!

I was thinking it was lucky that the tree came down right between the cars, then noticed you said your car did get damaged.

No I wouldn't laugh at something like that, you should be covered if you have fully comp insurance.
