Fake RRP prices

I went to Debenhams just to see if they had anything worth having in the sales - I get things I am not too fussed about like shoes in sales.
It was such hard work sorting out what the price was and what size the stuff was that I got fed up and went elsewhere. None of the discounts matched the signs next to the items and there seemed to be sale signs on stuff that was not even in the sale (which seemed to be the thing I preferred).
Sports Direct seem the same - just an overload of too much stuff in there with too much hype.

as said above whether its ON SALE or OFFER or REDUCED makes no odds to me if i think the price to be paid is to high then i dnont buy it ... simple

Another case where we are being let down by the likes of Trading Standards, Office of Fair Trading or whatever they are called now. Privatise them and make them earn a profit, that should fix it.

The goods are supposed to have been on sale at the higher price for a certain minimum time before the special offer. If not, they are breaking consumer law.
But sometimes if you look at the labels carefully you will see something like 'This item has been sold at the higher price in our store in Outer Mongolia [some town that is not the one you are currently in] at some time in the last six months' - thus sticking to the letter of the law but not to what most people think the law means/should mean.

Once took a Currys manager to task over that bit. Asked which store & he named one that had closed two months earlier. Its why I was using that one.

But why does it matter so much? If you see something that was for example £100, and it's now £15. If you think that £15 is very cheap then surely you just buy it and it's job done. Never mind what price it is pretending it was.

I'd also be asking myself why such a price drop. I'd have to ask myself as there's seldom any staff to answer that question. Where ever its asked.

Does anyone remember the now defunct clothing shop Eisenegger?
They had a closing down sale with 70% off everything, that lasted for about 5 years.
I bought one of their jackets once for £30 reduced from £100. I have no doubt that it was never sold for £100, but it was a good jacket for £30.

I quite like SD, 2 T's for a fiver, do the job for decorating etc. Got a couple of pairs of cycling gloves also, the full finger ones are doing me well in the recent cold. I ignore the xx% off labels, and buy if I'm happy with the ticket price.

Interesting nobody has mentioned a certain online cycle retailer or 2 yet......
