Not all that famous - Mark Lever who played football for Grimsby Town.

He was always playing football at school and I envied his ability on the pitch - what with me having two left feet and a fear of being hit by the ball (which doesn't help much when it comes to headers) - and then I found out a couple of years ago he was living next door to my sister. Small world.

According to Wiki, four lower-league footballers and an actor from Corrie. I'm distinctly underwhelmed...

I've just wiki'ed my old school which was merged with another and changed names. Stayed in the same place though, same building, until recently when they re-built it. Anyway, Steven Gerrard was one of it's pupils.

Tony Christie. Singer.
Alan Sunderland. Footballer Arsenal, Wolves and Ipswich.
Jonathan White. Bass player, Groove Armada and Faithless
My dad went to school with the actor Donald Pleasance, his father was the local station master.

Joseph Priestley, wot invented oxygen and Sir Titus Salt who didn't, both went to my school, all be it a few years before I did.

You played recorder with Radiohead - Wow!!!

One quarter of them. He was a very quiet well-spoken young man, and one of my brother's friends. IIRC he learnt the violin quite late, and played in the junior orchestra as a fifth former alongside a lot of moderately precocious 11-year olds.

Should we start calling you Sir Trickedem?

Neil Innes went to my school but a long time before I went there. I met him once and he gave me his autograph and commented on my school scarf - I had left the school some 10 years earlier but it was a nice scarf and its been 'comped' or 'high schooled' since my day.

What's s/he well known for?
Former chief whip, I believe. A very long-standing minister (and shadow), certainly, who I gather is the local MP for an illustrious fellow Friday.
