Fastest delivery EVER?

My sister is up for the weekend. She saw the 10-DVD boxed set history of the Tour de France that she bought me for Christmas lying unopened next to my TV and asked if I didn't like it. I replied that I DO want to watch it but had discovered that my DVD player is broken so I haven't had the chance yet.

She needed to do some shopping so we decided to drive over to Halifax and I would buy a Blu-ray player for myself while we were there. Then we reconsidered ... we would be encountering Friday evening traffic on the busy, narrow valley road. It is about a 25 mile round trip from here. No fun!

We decided to shop online instead, expecting that we would be able to get what we wanted delivered tomorrow, maybe for a premium delivery charge. To our surprise, Argos had everything that we wanted in stock, at a reasonable price, and would do same day delivery if we ordered before 6 pm.

We completed our order at 5:50 pm and the delivery charge was only £3.95. A friendly driver delivered the order at 7:10 pm. Maybe we are easily impressed, but ... ARGOS, WE ARE IMPRESSED!

I bough a book off fleabay once and duly paid. An hour later got a call from security that someone had left me a parcel. An hour ! There's good service and bloody ridiculous. I'd been after the book for years too

I've got a friend who was trying to buy a sewing machine in Argos, she'd been given a £10 off voucher as a goodwill thing for a previous problem with them.
She was told voucher was only valid for home delivery, an extra £3.95.
She is standing in the shop. The shop has the machine in stock. She lives in a very rural part of Lincolnshire, it will cost Argos more than £3.95 to deliver it. Rules is rules though. Still, she saved £6.05 didn't need to carry it back to her car and the driver had a nice drive through the country.

Pah! That's nothing, I once got a delivery 2 minutes after I had ordered it. Stunned to say the least, until I looked at the address, it was for next door.

I once ordered a computer part for home from a company based in Amsterdam at 5pm. It arrived the following morning at 7am. The tracking proved it had done the miles.

It is a pity Dell aren't that quick. Our IT guy ordered a battery from them in February last year, one eventually arrived in November!
