Anyone have any plans for Sunday.

For the first time ever, I am making a bit of a effort and shall be travelling up to the lake district for a weekend of riding with mates.

My wife and kids have given me an all access hall pass to go and enjoy, its their gift to me.

Really excited!

Is that not a bit peculiar, celebrating Fathers day by getting as far away from your children as possible?

I'll be spending the day hanging out with my daughter, but I'd be doing that anyway, there's nothing special about this Sunday.

My plans for Sunday are to complete the final leg of my L2P ride, from Compiègne into Paris, with my son
I did that last summer, have you got the route worked out. I had real trouble around the north side of Paris, getting past the airports and through the wasteland of urban decay. But the forest section was blissful, right up to Chantilly

That's kind of a contradicting post if its nothing special then why should you feel you need to spend it with anyone.

I shall see plenty of my family during normal hours, so Sunday is my treat, to spend it as I wish.

I'm really looking forward to it.

Probably be out on my bike in the morning, probably a nice 60 miler 3 county ride ... then back to the welcoming embrace of my family for the rest of the day. For the first time in a while all 5 of us will be around on Sunday so I may even blow the moths out of wallet and treat the family. Eldest lad has been working as our gardener since coming back from Uni last week so he deserves a reward ... and yes, the garden is in such a state its required that much attention !

It's not contradictory, I'll be doing what I would have been doing anyway. I just don't believe in Fathers Day, but each to their own.

Enjoy your ride, anyway. :okay:
