I have caused controversy on the slow bicycle movement by posting this photo:

Apparently it's fattist. I'm not fattist! Some of my best friends are fat. Hell, I'm even a bit plump myself!

I'm fast becoming a more 'generously proportioned' figure due to no cycling, all set to change soon.
Some people are just way over sensitive..

That's because they've stretched their pachydermic skin with gravity challenging lard until it's thin enough to let the barbs of criticism penetrate and stick.

I've got an infinite number of gala pies to get through to reach that stage.

Are you self confessed fatties offended?
Why should we be? Not sure anybody will argue that cycling is good for fitness. I was going well and getting rid of the middle aged spread nicely until getting hospitalised over Summer. Bikes back on the agenda now, albeit only under physio guidance on a turbo trainer, but I expect to lose the extra 7-8kgs that re-appeared before Easter, plus a bit more maybe..

Do more miles, eat more pies.

That's my motto.
Me and one of my cycling colleagues often observe how rediculously fat we'd be if we didn't ride. As it is we're just pleasantly plump.

Doesn't do to be too skinny, people prefer cuddling up to plump ladies.
Or is that 'laddies'?

It's a generalisation to say that people prefer 'plump' - some do, some don't - I don't.

I definitely don't find 'scrawny' to be attractive but I do like 'slim'. (That applies to myself too - I didn't like my body at 16+ stone, and I didn't like it below 12 stone either. At 6' 1", I feel and look at my best between 12 and 13 stone.)

I'vejust been accused of taking delight in shaming the fat kid. A man who has never met me has inferred this about me from the posting of that picture!

It was more a result of my lifetimes research. I've been skinny, I've been fat. I get more cuddle offers somewhere in the "pleasntly plump" range.

When I came out of hospital last december I was the skinniest I've ever been - I'd achieved my lifetime ambition! But I felt very bony and horrible! I immediately set to work with buttery crumpets and family packs of tyrrells to put the situation right!
