Retrieved my showerproof jacket from the depths of my work bag this weekend to cycle in biblical weather in the lakes, only to be confronted with this....

Wtf?

Luckily, I'd brought along two jackets.

It's now been through wash and looks no different. I did have orange peel also in bag, so I guess it could be mould *mouthsick*

Any suggestions on how to get rid or is it ruined?

Vanish Oxy-action might shift it. You'll then need to wash and re-proof the jacket. Nikwax Tech-Wash and Reproofer are what I've always used - be sure to follow their instructions closely. I've got mould off goretex and eVent fabrics this way. Try not to scrub to hard. I've been told that vinegar also works, but never tried it.

HTH.

Let us know how you get on. Just be aware that the vanish will destroy the water-repellency, so only use it where you need to. You can buy little twin-packs of NikWax quite cheaply, to restore the fabrics coating afterwards.
