To Kill a Mocking Bird. Everyone should have a dad like Atticus Finch.

Not a film per se, but the excellent production values surely let it qualify - the final scene of The Sopranos

excellent way to end it... and so many read so much into the way the screen just goes black (plus all those who thought their cable TV had gone down )... did it mean he was shot just as Meadow enters the diner? Nah... not in my book... life goes on as normal, and in Tony's line of work, he could get 'popped' at any time, but not at the end of the series. But others will have their own interpretations. I think they wanted an ambiguous ending.

I remember feeling hugely empty as the credits rolled, then as the realisation hit it was like a punch to the stomach. Can't think of any other TV drama that had the same effect.

Can't believe I'd forgotten about that. The choreography, the lighting, the subtleness of the ambient noise. Absolutely breathtaking.
