There's a great stretch of the NCR that loops around Chester and back to Deeside. It can get quite busy at the weekends but it's great to see loads of families using it. There's an excellent cafe at one end...and a couple of pubs on the way back!

i've yet to break my 100. most i've done is 86 in a day

This is the sort of route I use on an imperial ton, it's very green and leafy, with some nice / interesting places to stop. That helps with the boredom.

I've used variations of it as well.

This is another favourite of mine, it includes a 'wall of Tarmac' climb as well as nice scenery.

Clockwise around the coast of the Isle of Wight takes some beating. Just keeps getting better and better as you go.

And as a Bristol lad, you might think of doing the "Windrush Winter Warm-up" audax route, which is stunning. Take a look at the Audax UK website .... you don't have to enter the actual audax in the middle of Winter - just copy some of their route. Come to think of it, most of the audaxes I've done from The Bristol/Gloucester/Tewkesbury area have been great routes. Someone else has done all the hard work of picking out the best, quietest routes for you.

I have a circuit, about 60miles, that takes me through a series of classic Kentish villages. I like the fact that you can witness the seasons changing, and just enjoy a lovely part of the world.

40 mile circuit in the Chilterns taking in Dunsmore, Chesham, Wendover etc. Plenty of beautiful views, sharp climbs and long fast smooth descents....or alternatively (the other way around) grim long slogs uphill and hair-raising country lane half-pipes!
