I have a circuit, about 60miles, that takes me through a series of classic Kentish villages. I like the fact that you can witness the seasons changing, and just enjoy a lovely part of the world.

If we are talking about 60 miles, Sunderland up the C2C path past Consett, chuck a left down Lanchester Valley to Durham City, then back to Sunderland.

Mostly well made cycle paths, some roads for variety, and varied countryside/historic town/post industrial town scenery.

Clockwise around the coast of the Isle of Wight takes some beating. Just keeps getting better and better as you go.

Which villages? I'm a fan of cycling round Kent, but being London based means I stick to the NW corner mostly

Peterborough toward Wansford, along to Kings Cliffe. Good cafe just before KCliffe then onto Blatherwyke, turning towards Harringworth with its high speed hill that'll give you a speed wobble, on toward Rockingham raceway then Weldon Back toward Oundle then through back roads to Elton then home.
90% country roads, glorious in the summer, rolling hills, a couple steep ones, various old WW2 airfields, Harringworth viaduct is very impressive, also a good area for Red Kite, I think many nest there, very little traffic, lovely old villages, its got it all. About a 50 miler, done that one many times.

Bristol to Bath has to be up there. Puerto Del Carmen to Costa Teguise via the volcano. And my local 25 miler in Herefordshire, via Credenhill Tillington Wellington Sutton Withington is good as well.

Some quality riding round there, just about manageable from St. Neots for a Sunday morning ride. I don't have a favourite route as such, as long as I'm on the bike out in the country, I'm a happy man.

I managed to work out a route that is almost 90% off road, too and from work. It's got woodland country lanes, a bit of gravel some sand and a fair bit of Cobbles including a cheeky 20% cobbled climb. At this time of year there is often a slight foggy haze and the early morning sunlight makes everything very pretty, almost makes me forget I'm going to work...

So many favorite routes, would not know where to start.

I sympathise with Mavis in "Open All Hours" when trying to choose a favorite route round here. Is it? From Aglionby round to Newby East, Carlisle, Home. Or from home to Kirby Stephen and train back Or down to Mary Port via Silloth. Or along Hadrians Wall to Newcastle. Or Hartside from either side. I just don't know. Or maybe I should head North to Dumfries via the Solway coast. Maybe I could head for Becastle and Kershoppe foot. But as I have more work to do in the garden today I will head for Wetheral via the river road and climb past the church from the ferry crossing.

Quite like this route near me - nicely balanced, some easy bits, a fairly steep climb and a mountain climb

I live in Herne Bay so most of my rides are centred around the east of the county. I usually head south through Herne, Marshside, Upstreet, Grove, Wickembreaux, Littlebourne and across the downs to Adisham and Nonington. I can then go through any one of a number of routes and very few of them require riding on busy roads. Lovely villages over in @Hill Wimp country, around Deal and over towards Sandwich, Preston, Ash, Wingham etc. There's some nice cycling down here!!

British Heart Foundations Oxford to Cambridge ... because it's flat.... But I also like the London to Brighton route, because this is the route that scared the life out of me as a plucky 15 year old and the last count of conquering Ditchling Beacon is now 9.

12 miles or so to Otley.A few ways to get there also.i just love the place.
