muesli (Alpen to be precise). Seems to last about 4 hours where porridge seems to only last 2 hours and I am starving again.
I'm the other way, I eat Alpen everyday unless I'm riding. :-)

Mid ride at the cafe refuel, bacon butty, brown sauce, big slice of cake and a coffee. Healthy options only for me. :-)

Apparently porridge is the secret weapon of Team Sky. Their training chap was featured on a recent programme comparing the evils of sugar and fat, and said it's actually unobtainable on the Continent, so when they go over for the TdF they take hundreds of kilos of the stuff with them. (I vote for porridge too, though it's muesli every other morning.)

It depends.

If its a long ride with just my buddies i'd probably hv toast with half boiled eggs, or buns/ sandwiches or a small nasi lemak (local breakfast).

If the long ride is a registered event (century ride or fellowship ride) then the butterflies in my tummy (I get very nervous with so many riders around, some so competitive they seem ready to bite anyone who gets in their way lol) will just make me wanna puke... so I bring along granola bars or power bars and eat as I go along.

I have to say, Nasi Lemak looks a lot more tasty that a bowl of porridge

LOL... now thts a 'deluxe' all-in version of nasi lemak. i'd need at least a solid hour (or 2) before I can even attempt getting on my ride after a plateful

This mini ones are what I would sometimes have

This shows a selection of rice based breakfast. the one at the bottom left is nasi lemak (indicated) as it is traditionally wrapped (in banana leaves & paper) and served.
