I don't like flying.
It's not an "irrational" fear for me. I'm not bothered by the fact that many tons of metal are suspended in the air by no tangible support whatsoever. Or by any of the other commonly held fears about flying. After all, the pilot doesn't want to die either, so if he's happy to fly, then I have to trust that it's safe for me to get on board....
With me, It's the fact that I very easily get motion sickness on any form of transport, so as soon as the plane makes any sort of irregular movement I start feeling all hot and clammy, and before long I start throwing up.
So it's not an "oh God, we're all going to die" type fear, it's just that I end up sitting there praying that I won't barf all over my nearest and dearest, or the other passengers.....
And the way for me to avoid all that negativity is not to fly.
The only alternative for me is to take several travel sickness tablets before departure, and then they leave me feeling like cr*p for the next 24 hours, so I really don't want to take that option either.
