Driving back (well, a passenger in their car) with some friends from a craft trail, in Sutton upon Derwent, we passed a guy and his little girl cycling - she was maybe 6 or 7? She was all in pink, on a pink bike, with a pink barbie helmet. As we approached, I though, "typical, look at the angle of that helmet, on the back of her head". As we passed, I modified that to "oh yes, it's on backwards".
A little way round the corner, there's a single file bridge, and lights which were red, so they eventually caught us up, just as the lights changed. I wish now I'd opened the window and said something to him.
I could easily see that if she came off forwards, not only would her forehead be completely exposed, but the back edge at the front would really push her head back.
Commenting to my friend, she said "How can you tell it was backwards?" So I guess it's just not obvious....
