Feeling old!

my son and his girl came round this morning and told me i was to become a veloci-grandad i'm only 40

in an attempt to avoid the grandad title, i've been coming up with my own title. so far my best are Grumbledad, Grumps, and Grumpa
assuming my girl wont want to be a grandma, so maybe we need a title each. maybe Beepop and Lula or Grumble and Mumble ....lol

I like that, but personally I'd fight not to be the one called 'lumpa' - one day this kid is going to be running round a park yelling your titles....

Congrats....I think.....Gramps !!! God my old man didn't want to be called Grandad when we had our first - I was almost 32.....he was late 50's..... and I'm nearly your age now....

I was a grandad at 38...been loving it ever since.
I dont mind grandad at all, although the wife absolutely refuses to be called grandma...its always nan.

I often call my parents grandma and grandad. When i first did it their faces were a picture
And when we look after my cousin(whos 3 now i think) i will call them grandma and grandad aswell
I wouldnt feel so old
Theres a dinner lady at school, sorry, mid day supervisor who isnt a grandma, shes a nanny or something or other.
She would have completly grey hair aswell if she didnt dye it, but says shes too young to be a grandma

Congrats to you and yours. I became a Dad at 47. My Mrs is 19 years younger than me, so between her, our daughter and the bikes..........I'm hoping to be around awhile
