How can we know if there's black ice before falling on it? The temperature hasn't dropped even near 0 in Cragley or Northern Ireland, yet people have still come off on ice.

Irish ice gets more slippery as it gets warmer - never heard that one before^_^ Stay safe and upright!

GWS !

I know how you felt. I did a gentle commute on Christmas Eve as I was recovering from a nasty cold, and had not ridden since until today.

I hope you're feeling better soon. I still have a lump on my right hip from a similar fall a few years ago now - grease on the road was the culprit then. Hope your bike is OK !

I had a minor moment at a roundabout yesterday caused by a mixture of diesel (probably) and light rain (certainly).

Back wheel popped out, tiny bit of opposite lock correction and on I carried.

Fortunately I had already slowed for the possible hazard, I ride slowly anyway, so my pace onto that roundabout was near glacial.
