I don't know many men who would dislike being "objectified" - perhaps women should deal with it better!

Snailracer, by painting the reaction of a woman as an issue rather than the behaviour of objectifying as an issue it's highly patronising and avoids real examination of the matter at hand. By saying that, it allows the same ill thought out behaviour to continue and also pervades with the sexist stereotype that women are hysterical or making a fuss over nothing or being over emotional. As mangaman has pointed out, objectification of men happens on a less wider scale and less pervasive manner. A male experience to objectification is differing to a female experience of it- men as Adasta has pointed out are seen as protagonists/active/do-ers etc in the gender stereotype whereas women are seen as supportive and maternal, an object of beauty to be sought and possessed.

I wouldn't even say that we are living in feminist orientated times - I honestly think there is a very long way to go.

Going back to the OP, a few women tennis players do make a right lotta noise. It is annoying. But then again so are many things, just make the choice and dinnae watch.
