Good Evening All,

I’m spending the festive holidays in the Dundee area with family and will be there for around a week or so I’m unable to take by bike North with me on this occasion so are looking for advice on two fronts - 1) Hire options for a day or 48hr type rides and 2) Gym recommendations Re Watt Bike type activities if the weather hits! Any help advice much appreciated - happy holidays to all !

I like Skol

Have a week off from the cycling/training and just enjoy the opportunity to spend some quality time doing other stuff with your family and friends.
If you desperately need to stretch your legs or get some fresh air you can always go out for a walk and this won't isolate you from the rest of your group because you can involve others in your walks.
The cycling will still be there when you get back in the new year :okay:

Otherwise, assume you’ve googled ‘bike hire in Dundee’ and ‘gyms in Dundee’ and picked up the phone to any hits? :okay:

David Lloyd has Wattbike but they charge about £150 a month for membership (probably more without a contract)

Hussle do daily gym passes

DW offer a 3 day free pass (doubt they have Wattbike though)

I was in Dundee earlier in the year and hired a bike from a place up near the University that mainly seemed to deal with electric bikes, but did also do a range of regular hybrid and mountain bikes as well. They didn't do any road bikes if that was what you were after, but as I was mainly going to be doing a gentle cycle along NCN 1 in the direction of Broughty Ferry and Carnoustie, which is fairly flat, I didn't need anything too advanced (if you're interested in my route, I've got it on Strava - https://www.strava.com/activities/2448024426).

They hired by the hour or by the day and apparently also had a place down near the quay as well and service was pretty good. I didn't pre-book via their website, just turned up on the day, but have just found them at electricbikesscotland.co.uk

Have used DW fitness down by the Quay twice whilst in Dundee thanks for the suggestion they do have a single Watt Bike that I’ve enjoyed using on two separate occasions via my 3 day pass 👍
