I once took delivery of a brand new bicycle, and every single component including the frame had been installed upside down. I was on their helpline for hours until eventually they conceded they were at fault and palmed me off with a 'quick fix' to enable me to ride it, but it still bugs me to this day.

Don't cut your brake cable whilst assuming you have another in that pile of parts, only to realise you've got 10 gear cables, but no brake cables.

Ditto with replacing forks!

I'm not joking either. I'd just finished reassembling the fork bearings and looked at my handywork thinking "hang, something's not quite right ..." then after a few minutes "ffs!"

Done that very thing the other day, and all because I wanted to tidy up my cabling around the handlebars. Must find another way of relieving the boredom stuck in the house with covid.....
