Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
Our personal experience of tips aren't necessarily relevant. These aren't private individuals. Private individuals don't have 10 matresses, 20 pallets, 5 sofas, 2 baths, sheets of gyproc etc.

These are professionals. Either builders themselves or waste disposal businesses that builders pay to clear away stuff. Maybe not legit businesses, but businesses nonetheless. Authorities making the tips easier for us won't help. Or won't help much. Some of this stuff may come from ordinary people who under other circs could have gone to the tip. But not much I'd guess.

I've no idea what services authorities offer to businesses, but that''s where the root cause lies. Or one of the root causes.

As I don't move in these circles where people have 10 matresses it's hard to suggest a solution. Other than forcing the perps to eat the stuff if caught (and no, I'm not offering them any alterative food. It's matresses or nothing until you die. Which you will after a while.)

Indeed, but if it were easier for private individuals to get shot of stuff legitimately they would not be slipping a quiet 50 to Acme Waste Mismanagement to get rid ofnit for them.

Both East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire council tips are open six days a week with no appointments needed. You might end up queuing on a weekend or a bank holiday.

Nearest tip to the video is probably New Addington, within a couple of miles, open most days with few queues and no booking needed for residents.

This is trade waste.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I caught someone flytipping during lockdown. I was out for a ride and in one country lane passed him as he was dumping his crap off a bridge into a gully below. I dont thing he even heard me.

I recognised him and the car as living in the next street to me, and gleefully reported him. I was even more filled with glee when the council officer that got back to me turned out to be a retired bobby id worked with about 20 years prior.

I also saw another one last year. Was walking th3 dog and about 100 metres more so ahead a car pulled up a lay by, the driver hooped out, pulled a large flat screen tv from his boot, propped it against a litter bin and sped off. I dont see how he could not have spotted me but he still did it. I got the reg and grassed him too, but dont know if he ever got stiffed over it,

The penalties should be draconian and well publicised, and LAs should stop making it difficult to access the local tip.
