They are easy to catch as they next in fields at this time of year.

To catch one you only have to lay under a hedge and make a noise like a small fish and they come straight to you.

We had one who's mate had died and it was rejected by all other pairs. It took to wandering up on to the Main St and people fed it probably unsuitable food. It lost any fear of humans and even went into our local coop once. It was getting to be a real nuisance and eventually the RSSPCA came and took away to a refuge somewhere.
