Figures: Good or Bad?

Not sure what to make of these figures

Any idea why the jump from five years ago?

It is a bit staggering that out of the 13,000 injured, 9000 involved no other vehicle. Is this our mountain biking friends adding to the total or do we all just fall off unaided on the road?

certainly for motorbikes the main cause of death is a left hand bend, follwed by a right hand bend, Ithink another vehicle doesn;t appear until cai=use five or suchlike

there's a focus on other party fault always

huge rise in traffic and cycle commuters is my guess

ot the classie 'change in the way data is recorded'

The figures are only down a couple of hundred. I wouldnt not even tally that as significant - when its down a few thousand we can rest easy. I also think many cyclists dont report a few accidents, or if they feel ok after being knocked down by some plonker motorist who hasnt payed attention... the injuries may set in over a few days after the even such as bruising and muscle pain.
