.......The elephant in the Crackle household: A rather big elephant brought to a head by my inability to find my Council Tax bill.

I've largely ignored it as Mrs C piled things up and I shifted them around, until, like stirring soup, everything became one. Finally I'd had enough and have begun sorting it and sticking everything into the hanging files we have and have ordered 10 box files off the internet which will cover the household stuff but not the professional stuff, that's a different nightmare.

We've actually got, actually got, an Ikea folder with what looks like everything we've ever bought there in it. I may build a special fire for that one.

But in the words of the great Bono, "I still haven't found what I'm looking for"

I'm wearing it out right now.

I've found the Council tax in the Dorothy Perkins Spring collection folder

I can see that a bright pink halter neck tee shirt would be just your thing! Or for the more formal occasion, you might like this one:

Get a decent scanner and only keep those things that a paper copy is essential

Scanning is on my list, Smiffy but I think it will be from now on rather than going back through the stuff and first up is essential documentation like certificates and stuff.

I requested a four drawer filing cabinet as a birthday present many years ago and it is without doubt the most useful gift I have ever received:smile:.
Everything is in there from Bird Counts to Wind Speed Measurement Conversion charts^_^.

Having 6mths off work sorts the problem. I had a mahoosive admin clearout whilst i was off. I found details for houses i had sold 15 years ago and the bills to go with them. I did my last sort through yesterday and still managed to fill a carrier bag of stuff to be shredded. It's quite cathartic.

Now i'm starting with the rest of the clutter in my life.

The cats are on tenderhooks.
