I fail to understand the need to take naked pictures of your partner or the willingness to have them taken by your partner. It's not the same as saying 'serves you right for having your expensive bike stolen - you shouldn't have bought it.' No sensible person would leave their expensive bike unlocked and immobilised yet some women, it's nearly always female victims, willingly present unscrupulous men with the opportunity to steal their modesty, self respect and social standing.

There's a lot of education about the consequences of one's actions that needs to take place for both genders about their roles, responsibilities and possible consequences of their actions within their relationships. The internet has moved the boundaries of what damage is attainable by nasty people. Sadly society has a lot of catching up to do to curb the unsavoury activities of those who are willing and able to exploit it.

The genie has been let out of the bottle and it's going to be difficult to get it back in.
The people taking these pictures of themselves or allowing others to do so may well be unwise but they aren't doing anything wrong. To conflate the two issues as you are is blatant victim blaming.

Cunobelin if you wish to discuss blackmail, start another thread. But please stop this stultifying idiocy and stop attributing things to me that I did not say.

Did you read the original post?

THis is about someone putting pictures on a website and then charging for their removal

To most people this is Blackmail

Not a "little bit" of blackmail, but blackmail in its worst form

A year or two ago, Adrian similarly replied HBF to a post of mine, and I had to resort to looking it up. Unfortunately I came first across an alternative definition, where the H stood for hand, the B for a part of the anatomy, and the F for, well, you can guess, and I spent a little while wondering just what he had in mind.... ^_^

The real cycling analogy is whether suggesting using lights at night is blaming the unlit person involved in an accident or advising that lights may prevent that accident in some , but not all cases
No, the real cycling analogy is whether suggesting using a full face motorbike helmet is blaming a cyclist with a head injury or advising that a full face motorbike helmet may prevent that injury in some but not all cases. If it's not victim blaming it's bloody useless advice.

those italics are a little bit necessary, because they're the three little words Cunners was so keen to dwell upon

It is simply the appalling idea that any blackmail is acceptable. TMN is keen to remove it from the discussion rather than explain how some blackmail is acceptable

you talking to yourself again cunners?

Now that was funny... most people would consider it a reply to their post, but there we go.

One more, and probably best if it is the last, time. No one has suggested that any level of blackmail is acceptable. This is just a ludicrous misinterpretation you introduced to deflect from the fact that you missed the point. Since then you have chosen to persist with it way beyond any point that could be considered reasonable.

So what does the sentence "blackmailing "a little bit" suggest to you then?

There is also the mater over whether consent under duress is acceptable... again TMN seems to be reluctant to clarify

You are right...

TMN could have dug themselves out of the hole, but chose not to

Lets leave it that for some consent under duress is acceptable and has the same standing as consent that is freely given
