If you're going to head down to Greenwich,I'd recommend getting there via the Thames Clipper - there's a pier near London Bridge station - to the east of the road bridge. Once you've cast off and are past the Thames police place at Wapping, go and stand outside at the back of the boat, and look backwards as the horizon gets smaller very quickly - their speed is less restricted once they're past the old bill at Wapping. Did I mention that there is a bar on board?

Greenwich is always nice, and the Admiral Hardy is open until 3a.m.

Have done three from four of those.

Dukw water based tours are sadly no more....

Sadly? I suppose it was quite humourous watching them try to kill people.

Ooh - I was about to say that. This is what we did on our "Northern Country Bumpkins Visit London" tour this summer

done it a few times now, one of our fave excursions in town. Need to go west on one, one day, only ever headed to the O2 on it so far.

The Hardy. Oh dear gawd, my sister used to work behind the bar in there.

On the duck tours we've done the only danger of death was hypothermia....

Stopped because of sewer construction rather than safety concerns: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-41108276

As long as it stopped them.

Not as cool as the DLR, no driver so you can sit in front and pretend you are.

While you’re near the Thames go on the Emirates Air Line https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/emirates-air-line/ much cheaper than the London Eye rip off and just as breath taking.

I'd second this.

I'd also recommend a trip to the Maritime Museum in Greenwich, an oft overlooked treasure (all the tourists head for the Observatory). As someone else has said, the market at Greenwich is also worth a nosey.

If you and TLH like cheese, I'd recommend a visit to Rippon Cheese on the way back to Victoria Station. A hidden food gem.

If you're a bit of a @potsy and enjoy a kebab, I can recommend the Cyprus Mangal in Pimlico.

I spent many great days at that museum as a child, I must go back one day.
