Fire extinguishers...

What’s the point in having all different colours of extinguisher?
Only the blue, Powder, one is to be used on all materials.

No point, as far as I can see, in the red, yellow, black or green varieties.

I reckon most people would just grab the nearest one, in the event of a fire, and just loose it off in the general direction of the flames, whatever was burning!

Where did you dig that old sign up from. I can’t actually remember when the separate colours were discontinued.
The easy way to tell the difference is by the dispersal hose.

Unless I'm mistaken, they're all red these days - with just a colour code sticker on them.

Another EU H&S gone mad rule that will be sorted post Brexit. ;)

And as anyone knows, the primary use of a fire extinguisher is to prop open the fire door....

Setting the controls for the heart of the sun.
"Extinguisher colour" possibly slightly misleading. Label might be more accurate, or at least based upon personal recollection and two powder extinguishers in my garage.

The foaming agent (AFFF) in a foam fire extinguisher is excellent at removing spot stains in clothes.
