What’s the point in having all different colours of extinguisher?
Only the blue, Powder, one is to be used on all materials.
No point, as far as I can see, in the red, yellow, black or green varieties.
I reckon most people would just grab the nearest one, in the event of a fire, and just loose it off in the general direction of the flames, whatever was burning!

The easy way to tell the difference is by the dispersal hose.

Unless I'm mistaken, they're all red these days - with just a colour code sticker on them.
Band or label, covering at least 5% of the surface area."Extinguisher colour" possibly slightly misleading. Label might be more accurate, or at least based upon personal recollection and two powder extinguishers in my garage.
