Had an incident today and second is as many months on the same route, without going into details today other than I'm ok and no damage where can I take this as well as say First, and possibly Leeds County Council?

Is there such thing as roadsafe for leeds for example?

Unless there is a demonstrably unsafe road design, Leeds City Council has no part to play, so contact First Bus.

Ain't no Roadsafe in Leeds

Hmm i dont know about dangerously unsafe, but I wanted to put forward some road suggestions to them thats all.

I'll stick with First then it seems.

Cheers!

Traffic Commisioners, Harehills Road, Leeds. If the complaint is soley about First. Ignore their(First's) online reporting. Standard reply will be sent.

If the road itself, Leeds City Council Highways Department.
They have/had a section that would look at your side, as a cyclist, with a bit more interest than some other highway engineers.

Traffic commisioner it is I think as I need to reference a previous (brushed off?) incident.

The road is actually all bus lanes in leeds, there is a proposal for hackney cabs to be able to use them, I want to point out to leeds I object because (a) its stupid and (b) buses's dont seem to want to share them anyway

I'd include the council in anything you send. That way if the Traffic Commissioners say that it is out of their area to deal with at least you can fall back onto the council.

Ok cheers, thought I'd step it up as its second incident in a short space of time.

Ideal chance for me to feedback on the taxi proposal as well - I missed the latest consultation forum where the proposal was made known: http://www.leeds.gov.uk/files/Internet2007/2012/8/minutes 104.pdf

You have a wee message.

Just a coupla wee fwiw for here though -

- Taxi proposal? Get on to your local councillor(s)

- +1 that complaining through First's website is a "less than satisfactory experience". However, at least in areas like West Yorkshire (and I guess S Yorks, Greater Manchester? Don't know), there's another tier of transport management. Here, it's West Yorkshire Metro.

Cheers to all for info here and in messages, I'll take it from here and let you know what happens.

RE Buslanes and Taxi's - I will perhaps follow this up as a separate issue so as not to muddy the waters so to speak.

500+ cabs all waiting everyday for the one ride they get since been kicked out of LBA and costing the city millions not mentioning the amount of pollution hundreds of taxi's cause sat waiting day in and out.

First are the reason I took to cycling, some half wit drivers and half a brain planners. When they went on strike I laughed sooo much, they increase the fares robbing those who use them the most and extend their routes so much it takes 50 minutes to travel 5 miles and at the start it takes 30 minutes to travel less than a mile at times.

Your not secretleeds Leodis are you? (I'm wiggydiggy over there as well):hello:

First too drove me off buses with their almost rocket speed increases in fares, I started cycling when I found my new flat was a mile or so out of the greenzone and I couldn't afford whatever they wanted for a monthly pass. That and the fact I can complete for them (at rush hour) a 40-50 minute journey in less than 15^_^ And from a few 'insde man' posts elsewhere the impression I have is staff arn't happy with First Leeds either

Some other silly rules like how the monthly metro cards for bus travel were not valid on services between 0001 and finish (say around 0300ish for the 95) meant I just gave up on them.

These days if you have to use buses's in leeds I'd either recommend the 'Metro pass' which although more expensive than a first monthly (or equivelent) at least lets you use ALL buses. e.g. I'm very fortunate that if I do need the bus to town I can use at least 3 operators - Keighly, White Rose and First

The Taxi thing is by far the worst idea, like I say if a few bus's cannot share the lanes with cyclists what are the chances of 500+ taxis being as patient?
