So the sun is shining, I have a day off work, the road beckons. Time for a quick 15 miler round the local lanes.
Now I've been riding shimano SPD clipless since I reaquainted myself with 2 wheels a couple of years ago. Took right to it, no clipless moments, commuted 10 miles to work through traffic etc.
About 20 yards from my house I have this crazy thought that it's colder out than it looks and I need a jacket. So I go to turn round in the road, only I brake too hard and suddenly I'm not moving while halfway through a tight turn. At this point the irresistable laws of newtonian motion take over and dump me in the road.
So now I have a nice case of road rash on knee, hand and shoulder. The stupidest thing is it is really warm - I carried on cycling and drank a litre in 15 miles. Absolutely no need for a jacket!
