First Commute

Another "first commute" post - sorry! - but I'm feeling so virtuous...

10 miles in total, comprising 5 miles of quiet country lanes, a mile of urban road then 4 miles of redways (cycle paths) into central Milton Keynes. 45 minutes, job done, lovely day for it.

All on my old Specialized Hardrock Sport newly shod with the ubiquitous Schwalbe Marathon Plus.

Last year I was using a gallon a day in the car, to this year half a gallon a day on the Honda, now to no gallons a day. Planet saved, sleep easy.

Well done! The only flaw in your fuel equation is that your porridge consumption will increase proportionally to the decrease use of petrol.
