I know, a puncture is no big deal and doesn't deserve a whole thread. To make it even less interesting. I was only 1km from home and had a spare tube. I couldn't be bothered to change the tube so I walked home, pushing the bike.
This walk took me down the old dilly lines that run from Springwell, through Wardley and down to Jarrow. In the space of half a mile, two separate cyclists stopped and offered me help. I declined both offers because I was nearly home but it was really reassuring to know I belong to a community where people look out for each other.
If either of you read this, thanks for making my day.

Fast and careful!
The wheel is round so the saying says,I always give help or offer a hand or a cheery wave , as one day it will be me in the same position

I stopped in the dark last weekend to make a phone call on top of a hill in Richmond Park. Over the course of five minutes, four riders came by. All asked me if I needed help. Great people.
