I still remember mine from when I was aged 10. She was a vision of blond curls and rose-scented soap and her name was Susan Gamble. I walked her home on the last day of the school summer term and I said, "See you during the holidays?" and she said, " No we're moving to Gloucester tomorrow".

My heart still aches.....

My first BF, at 14, was called Martin and was the goalie for the school footie team.

A schoolfriend called Anita did make me agree to marry her when we grew up but we were only about 7 so that doesn't really count. Then there was Sally who, like me, was 16. She was THE one and remained so for a LONG time after the two weeks we were actually together!

Edited to add there's no better feeling of unconditional love than when you have kids.

My first girlfriend girlfriend was a huge love of my life but had I known who her next boyfriend after me was at the time, I would have been mightily miffed. I only discovered this in the last few years after she'd contacted me on Friends Reunited where she told me that my successor was a right footballing hero of mine. And I mean a RIGHT footballing hero. A man who brought two MAJOR trophies (think of the type of trophy never to have been seen in our nation's capital but we've seen loads up here) by his scoring (no, I mean REAL scoring) attributes.

That was a choker till I got over it.

My first boyfriend (well he was male and we were inseparable) - was Matthew Taplow and we were 5 ... I was the only girl at his birthday parties, and we played in the rain together ... until he moved schools aged about 7

I was 17, she err...taught me a lot. I'm just glad it was before I went to uni, i was in danger of becoming a Smiths lyric.

I hesitate to guess lest I offend on grounds of age or club but he must've played for Liverpool or Man U, right?

I went out with a girl called Nicola (I think) when I was about 5! I remember I pushed over Tony because he was getting a bit too "friendly". I think I knocked out one of his fillings (or baby teeth!).

Don't mess.

First girl I went out with was called Annette... it lasted a few months or so, we were both 14. Saw her again when I was 23... my dad died, and I went to the bank to sort out his account, etc. She was the person I dealt with. Was nice to see her again, but haven't seen her since. When I was 17, I fell for a girl I'd known since we were 9. We lived together for a bit, but eventually split. Got in touch again some years back, but we haven't seen each other for over 25 years, but it's a good "virtual" friendship, with no issues, as such. She's a good sort.

I was rather rubbish with girls so other than going out with a couple of lasses for a few weeks, not much. I was way too busy riding my bike, racing etc etc. sheesh....

I did fall for my current wife when I was in my early 20's though, and got married at 25. 16 years now !!!

But she never got over it, you know....
