Purveyor of fine nonsense
First boyf was called John, when I was 13 or 14. This was mid 1980's so he was a vision of pale lemon / pale blue / pale pink Miami vice style clothes. Complete with sleeves pushed up to the elbows. Very skinny, with spiky hair and sooooo boring. cringeworthy ! We were a couple for 3 years. Bumped into him a few years ago and HE STILL HAD THE SAME CRAPPY HAIRSTYLE. I scuttled out of the way and spent the rest of the night having the p**s took out of me by my mates as I made the silly mistake of telling them who he was. What was I thinking lol

I think I'm a few years younger than you, I remember going to the school disco in 1987, aged 11. I was wearing a pair of ironed blue cords, my school sandals, an argyle sweater and a pair of adult-size aviator sunglasses. I had spent ages putting on hair gel to the extent that my hair was more like a bizarre-looking helmet and was plastered to my head. I remember walking out onto the dancefloor with my chest puffed out, "Wake me up" by Wham was on the deck, and I felt like I had arrived ...

First year of high school, her name was Cheryl Turner, didn't last long but then first year of high it never does. we actually dated twice more throughout the following 5 years, i guess there must have been something there at least. although in the end i reckon the sticky out ears finally drove her off.
still gab today, we're both married to others and have kids but yeah fond memories.

My first girlfriend was in 1972 when I was 15, her name was Elaine and the same age. Our dads worked together and we met a a works do. She was quite an advanced girl and showed me a thing or two, pun intended. We went out for about 6 months and it sort of fizzled out as she lived near Uxbridge and it took me nearly two hours to get to her house.

In 1981 just before I married the present MrsP I got a phone call from her out of the blue, so I went to see her, I had a motorbike by now, and we had a few drinks, a meal, talked about what we had done etc. and that was that. I still think about her from time to time as the actress Sarah Parish reminds me of her.

My first girlfriend in the sense that we actually both knew about it (rather than being a distant crush) was a girl called Sarah-Jane. We were 12. We held hands. My first real love, now that is a different story...

There was a girl at primary school and we used to go walking my dog out in the countryside when we were about 7. It was all going so well until one day she went up to stroke a horse in a field, she approached from behind the horse, horse couldn't see her, horse kicked her quite hard in the stomach. I fell on floor laughing. End of a beautiful relationship.

I did pick myself up and run to tell her parents. She wasn't badly hurt thankfully and now 35 years later, we are in touch through Facebook although living very different lives from each other.

Ah! Mary Jane Sands at catholic primary school in Princes Risborough. She invited me to her birthday party up on Bledlow Ridge, I remember sitting on the swing in her garden when she kissed me, I was about seven. Then my parents committed the ultimate betrayal of a child and shipped me off to boarding school. First proper GF after that was Carole at college, we stayed together for five years. I still think about her a lot. Had a few disasters after her!

Can't remember as I was too busy making model aeroplanes in my room. I did have a groovy chick who was 3ft tall with a flat head and was ideal for resting my pint on.

Ha ha ha! I remember going to a party where Survivor's 'Eye of the Tiger' was playing. I was maybe eleven? I was wearing a halter neck polka dot dress and socks with frills on, a winner with my jelly sandals. (OMG)
I felt so grown up but the boys all stayed on one side of the room, and the girls on the other. Cringe-making.

It's a pity the parents can't slip a few drops of vodka into the orange juice at parties like that to break down the inhibitions.

Very, very pretty girl, with an accent and a nasal tone of voice to be avoided at all costs.

Lasted about 2 weeks - her Dad didn't like the cut of my jib!

Her name was Vivienne and we were in the same class at school. I wanted her to be my girlfriend so to get on her good side I took her daffodils from my granny's flower bed. My 'friend' Fraser told her that I had nicked them out of some else's garden and she pulled all of their heads off and stamped on them.

That was me aged 6 with my heart like those flowers, in shreds on the floor.
