First Group Ride in the Morning GULP!

As the title suggest, I'm off for my first ever group ride tomorrow!

Have ridden with others in the past but never as part of an organised group

From what i see their pace is a fair bit faster than mine, but people are always saying how much faster you end up going in a group.

Hoping it sticks as they're the local cycling club and i think having those organised rides will keep my legs spinning through winter - mighty nervous though! Always get a nagging feeling I'll be holding people up!

Was looking a bit further afield as they seem to be a bit more.........................serious? I guess is the word!

But htought since they're on my doorstep I should at least give them a go - route seems a tad tasty mind!

Just sit on the front at 27mph and you should have no problems.

Have fun, group rides are a good way to get the miles in.

Excellent have a great ride. My club is doing an introductory ride tomorrow. This has been now scheduled for the first Sunday of every month where we go at the pace of the slowest rider, and complete 20,30 miles and a coffee stop..

Good Luck, you be fine though. If you do chainganging dont accelerate through, keep your stable speed and don't always feel like you even have to through anyway.

If you feel the need to stand up off the saddle push down harder on the pedal first, this will help stop anybody going into the back of you.

Point out any pot holes or other obstructions, again enjoy it and let us know the outcome
