I managed 54.869 miles today. My first half century for many years. I normally do about four 25 to 30 miles a week but today i went for a ride with a few members of the North Lancs Road Club. We set off at 9.30(early for me)from Whalley near Clitheroe and headed to Longridge then to Garstang for a nice cafe stop. I 'd had a light breakfast so i just an Expresso coffee with 4 sugar lumps for the energy. I'm not tired which is good as i'm off out in an hour to go for another ride with a small group. It'll only be about 15 miles so it's not too bad.

How the hell did you dissolve four sugar lumps into one espresso?

Good question. I let them soak a minute or two, then mashed them up with the coffee into a syrupy paste.

You haven't been to the Middle East then? They will take a small glass of strong tea with a sprig of mint and load it with five or more spoons of sugar, stirring and stirring until it all dissolves and turns into a syrup. Same with Lebanese coffee in a tiny cup.
