Thanks. Think i might need it for two reasons. Firstly the ride. Secondly swmbo has asked me to tidy the house up as ive 'nothing to do'. Just lying here in bed till she goes work at 9 then i can make my escape! Face the consequences later :-(Good luck

so update,
72.9 miles (117km) in 4hrs 56min. average speed 14.8
really happy with this on a number of fronts, previous furthest was 52 miles, up until the beginning of june I had only been out for 3 rides this year, and was struggling to do 15 miles. so at 46 years old and a horrible 17 stone the only way is up!!!
downside, my knees are rebelling and refusing to bend now
hoovering and tidying done before I went
