What's the point? Does it do anything a tent can't do, and miss a lot of the things a tent can?
I may be missing something obvious!
In Europe, at least, it is unlikely you'd find a proper campsite where it would be usable; and a shower, and sometimes a café, are nice luxuries.

I have a hammock in the garden and it's great for a nap but I wouldn't fancy 3 weeks on tour in it.
If it's raining you can keep your clothes in the tent, and easily change in the dry.
If you pull it would be interesting! Only a death-defying contortionist couple could succed.

Dealing with no trees costs an extra kilo, or half a kilo if you figure you will always have one tree

you can even use your hammock on the beach

Here's another shot showing the built-in midge net. It's also on a commercial campsite with showers and washing machine

Without meaning to refer to what I mentioned earlier, I think there's something very romantic about that set-up. I mean, Romantic, rather, ie in a get-back-to-nature sort of way.

OK, I realise there's no way I can say that which doesn't sound like I'm still talking about the other thing, but YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. I'd like to have a go in one (see, it happened again).

I would think that situation would be very bouncy, like riding out a hurricane at sea in a 30 foot sailboat.
