Hope you get rid of the cuts and bruises quickly Joe, and don't have any long lasting damage. Scum who drive off after hitting someone should be banned from driving for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh how terrible!!!

Hope your memory comes back of the incident and that you have a speedy recovery!

Can't beleive somebody hit you and then drove off (well I can but you know what I mean!!!)

Best wishes!

Thanks to all for your support and advice, the important thing is that the bike seems to be completely fine ;) - I'll take it in to a shop to get it checked over soon.

I'm feeling quite laid back about the whole thing this morning tbh, very glad to know that I'm not the type of person to leave someone lying in the road. Got some memories from yesterday coming back to me, so hopefully I'll remember the accident soon enough.

Got a big crack running through the left hand side of my helmet and a big gash on the left hand side of my head, so it looks like the helmet softened the blow a fair amount (given that despite it being there my head still made contact with the road).

Am I weird for wanting to go for a ride to clear my head?(j/k )

Not good Joe. Glad to hear that you're alive and just have cuts & bruises. You may also have concussion so getting on a bike just now might not be a good idea  . Hope you get well soon.

Bad luck Joe, and I would like to echo the comments of Simba above, if you've hit your head and been knocked unconscious the full extent of your injuries may not yet be apparent.
Something similar happened to me almost 2 years ago. 36 hours after being stitched up and discharged I was back in hospital with concussion.
Just take it easy for a few days if you can

Here for rides.
GWS Joe and don't sweat if you can't remember. Concussion is like that, some bits of the data get lost permanently when your brain gets powered off. I can probably total several days worth of concussion blanks!

when i fell off my bike 3 years ago, i got knocked out for about 1/2 hour. i was wearing a helmet too and i had concussion which meant dizzy spells for about 4 months after. the worse ones were when i was lying down, the room would go Whhooooooooooooossshhhh. LOL

I still can't remember any of my accident, only waking up to find the paramedics putting me on a spinal board. so you may never get your memory back.
