Pulled up to the lights tonight only to have some knuckle dragger beep his horn in his crappy little van thing.Took no notice until he got out and complained about me being too far out in the road.So i told him i was riding outside the "door zone"......oh the confused.com look on his face was brilliant  I sugested he read the highway code about it but that upset him even more and he started calling names which i thought was just his way of saying i cannot read and could not think of a good answer back  Last comment from Mr Knucklehead was keep in the kerb at which he got a flat "NO" ! and i rode off merrily while he held traffic up, Oh the joys of cycling

Good for you.

Sometimes, when I've been in similar situations, I feel like I'm watching myself from above.

It must have been satisfying to get a chance to explain the reason you were making him cross. Might make him think about things. The only time I have ever had that chance was when I was in the car with my mum, which hardly counts even though it was obvious that the light had suddenly dawned on her, she never moaned about 'cyclists in the middle of the road' again.

I do however wish i had said if you do have trouble reading the highway code then it has pictures aswell to explain things

Look on the bright side Skud, at least you didn't get shot at today
Had a couple of dodgy pullouts this week, both in daylight, car at side of road just pulled out without a look or an indicator, despite me waving my arms about in a 'WTF' sign he totally ignored me!!

Managed to get along side the 2nd time and give the guy a 'should've looked' sign

Why don't you go for the full on Duncan Goodhew look, can't get more streamlined than that pal

Skud, you need to get a full "lycra lout" uniform. Didn't get any idiot stuff on my urban 40 miler today, they were to damn scared...

You need tats like Ianrauk to really scare the crap outta motons!! I once wore some fake armwarmers made to look like skin and extreme tats, and I had a BMW driver run four red lights to get away from me. I only wanted to ask him nicely why he beeped me in case I'd done something wrong.
