First record you ever bought.

Further to the Record Store Day thread, and as a search reveals this subject hasn't been done for 10 years - what was the first record you ever bought? No cheating for the sake of credibility, all you Bay City Roller fans .

This was mine....... (In my defence, I WAS 7 years old!).

At least the Jam were cool and had a bit of street cred. Next time someone asks, I may just say the Jam.

In 1952 I went on a Cub camp to Sherwood Forest. Whilst there I bought a copy of "The Theme from "Limelight" by the Frank Chacksfield Orchestra" as a gift for my mother. It was a 78 and didnt make it home in one piece!

My brother and I bought it in a second hand shop. It had a hole in the disc half way through the track so we used have to stand by the radiogram and lift the arm up before the stylus reached it, then put it down just clear of it.
