With a massive £1.65 from my paper round, I tended to be really careful with records I bought and whilst I ended up with a lot of naff stuff (Toyah, Flock of Seagulls) I think my first buys stood the test of time. First single -

ELO - Out Of The Blue
Bought it from Our Price in Croydon in 1976. It was the blue vinyl version. I still have it and it get's a spin on the works death deck now and again (all my vinyl is kept at work)
I love the album just as much now as back when I first got it.

Further to the Record Store Day thread, and as a search reveals this subject hasn't been done for 10 years - what was the first record you ever bought? No cheating for the sake of credibility, all you Bay City Roller fans .

I saw an earlier version of the Rollers at Cragburn.... (a pre famous line up).

First record...
Pet Sounds...Beach Boys.
