First ride on motorbike

At the time how was I to know it was illegal? I was on private land and (rightly or wrongly) believed that the bike didnt have to be road legal to be used on that type of land.

People have now pointed out my errors (although I am unsure about them due to the amount of responses that you tend to get on public media). I cannot see that I have done any harm and I have not cost anyone any money. I now know I did wrong and have stated that I will not be doing it again (unless in the future I get another bike and decide to keep it).

This is fairly ludicrous, but you do like to dig. You have pretty high standards for others. You even carry a copy of the HC to wave at them.

But for you, ignorance is a valid defence. Ignorance and the fact that nobody was hurt and you didn't cost anyone any money.

How can it possibly be legal to ride a motorcycle uninsured and untaxed on land to which the public have access? You are not a child. You have passed your driving test and you take pleasure in lecturing the whole of Prestatyn on their collective driving inadequacies... But you were unaware that you shouldn't be riding an uninsured, unregistered, untaxed motorcycle.

As to your defence: How many of the people in your comedy Youtube videos hurt anyone? How many of them cost anyone any money? How many of them might have claimed ignorance of the law? Yet they still got a lecture (sometimes a rant) from you... and they got posted on Youtube for public humiliation. Really @Matthew_T, stop digging and delete what you can of this thread.

So you think you might act illegally again in the future, even now you know that what you did was illegal?

Thats not what I said. I said the exact opposite.

I meant that if I get another bike in the future, I will be keeping it so will be riding one again (LEGALLY). Do you honestly think I would do something which I now know is illegal again? And boast about it on here?
When I started this thread, and when I was riding, I didnt know it was illegal. Saying that I am ignorant to that fact is ludicrous. I have already said that I know I am in the wrong.

Bloody hell it is exhausting talking to people online. :heat:

Matthew start a dispute with ebay against the seller. Wont automatically get your money back but it will start the process. No V5 is a big issue.

No V5 is a very small issue, buying a bike from someone who does not own it is a big issue.

It's OK @Matthew_T, I'm just baiting you. I'll stop now. I think it would be unkind of me to persist.

I hope that you will now also stop posting your sanctimonious Preacher-Mouse-Road-Law-Morality-Judge nonsense on Youtube.

Many, many people in Rhyl, Prestatyn and the wider CC community will be tempted to point out your double standards with every preachy, shouty upload you offer.

I never found the motorcycle video. I imagine you got rid of it pretty quickly.

40 seconds ago on youtube "Its not me in the video. No proof that I was riding it."

21hrs ago "No. This is the first time I have ever been on a bike."

You really can't help yourself can you?

The V5 is a non-issue. It's not proof of ownership. There's a form to complete to get a V5 document if you don't have one.

@Matthew_T . You stated that you won the bike on ebay with the highest bid yes?*

That means the item will be listed under 'My Ebay' 'Purchase History' From here, under 'Order Information' you will have a link to 'Resolve a Problem'.

This applies to every ebay transaction regardless of category, so if you really can't start a dispute via ebay I'd suggest you may be mistaken about officially winning it that way.

Hope you get it sorted.

PS: listen to @fossyant .........................PLEASE!

*[EDIT] I see you did win IT Matthew, therefore there is no reason why you can't open a dispute via ebay. It might not get you anywhere, but you don't know if you don't try.

You can also request contact information for any ebayer you are in a transaction with. This might get you a different contact number for the seller if you are having problems getting in touch with them.

I have tried contacting ebay but their website just throws me into a maze of questions about payment and there is no direct customer service email address.

As the payment was made outside of Ebay then that is a breach of Ebay Rules and Policy, hence I don't think they would be overly keen to help out!
