After having my Decathlon Rockrider 8 stolen I purchased a Giant Talon 1.
Took it out today and did 21 miles along the TransPenine Way.
It was soooooo comfortable.
It is a more expensive bike but it does feel so much better/easier/more responsive.
Geometry seemed so different as was the gearing but after 30 minutes it felt natural.......it was gooood
I will do a 27 mile loop next week and am looking forward to it.

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Im looking with intent at a 45650b......

Your new Talon is only about £100 more than your old Rockrider.

I think your impressions illustrate Decathlon bikes are fine for what they are, but not quite the bargain some people reckon them to be.

While I agree in principle with your comment the "full price" of the Talon @ £850 is some £350 more than I paid for the Rockrider. Decathlon seem to have changed all the numbers but it was the 8.1 I had stolen for which I paid £500.
I do believe the Talon frame is better than the Rockrider but also that the 27.5" wheels are so much better for the type of cycling that I do e.g.nothing too serious
