As per the title really. One of my goals for the year was to complete my 21.5 mile loop at an average of over 20mph and today I managed to do it at 20.3mph.

Feeling rather pleased with myself and wanted to share. ^_^

I put the good performance down the to training ride I did at the weekend with 4F and Scilly Suffolk, a gentle meander from London Fields to Dunwich and back home.

The next goal I am going to work towards is completing the Essex 100 at a rolling average of 18mph+ Much training to do, but first stage completed. Now just need to figure out how to keep that pace for five times the distance...

You will find your average will be even higher when riding as part of a big group. If your doing over 20 for 20 miles on your own then 18 over 100 in a big group is not a big leap. Get miles in your legs and fuel well on the ride. Good luck.

Next step is my 34 mile loop and trying to improve on my 18.9mph best average.

I am hoping that big efforts on my shorter runs will also help me improve the average on the longer runs.

It would be great to get my 34 loop to 20 average, but judging buythe effort required today that might take a little while

I can only do that on the flat. It's too hilly round here to manage for me. If I get onto the flats over York way tho I have managed 50m in 2.5 hours which was the smuggest I have ever felt as I sat and ate pie before riding the 50m back home.

Have a few +20 ave on the run to work but I arrive in a condition which is unsuitable for an office environment...

Well done; if you get yourself in a good group you'll manage 18mph+ no problem, there's not too many hills down there.
