Had my first experience of silly commuter racing this year at lunch time.

On my way back to work, joined a shared path and noticed a guy on a black Cannondale MTB, who was in front of me, suddenly speeded up and started looking back more than "normal".
Since were on a shared path I ignore it and just ride my normal "shared path" pace, knowing there is a short incline coming up very soon. Catch up very easily on the incline then sit behind, to one side not drafting, watching him go for it. Turned onto a little straight with slight incline but into the wind and happily just cruised past.

As they say, small things please small minds but it made my day knowing I am in alot better condition now than I was the same time last year.

I am not a racer but there seem to be a few newbies on my route who are very keen to always be first away from the lights, it gets very tiresome after the 5th set of lights when you have to overtake them every time.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Had mine last night - a pootle home and the RLJ'ing Ninja who's been around a while came past, puffing like a chimney  . A slight speeding up and 30 seconds later he was well behind. He didn't even say 'hello' (I did!) even though I fixed his puncture with a donated inner tube from me (didn't offer to pay for it either! ).

I went for a little SCR fun earlier, definitely a case of "all the gear and no idea"... he ran a red so I gave up (I was doing so well too )

I have a lot on this week, so im limited to getting a few miles in at the end of the day. Im doing a quick 20 (everyday this week) as soon as i get home from work. There were a lot of cyclists around tonight, so i decided to use them all as targets. See one in the distance, catch and pass type of thing, not so much racing (as they were unaware i was coming) but just a little game to pass the time.
Had a smidsy in Sunderland, was sure I was going over the bonnet but my 'superb' bike handling saved the day! I was a tad irrate and the driver got a good tongue lashing.
